Stewardesses

The Stewardesses are the caretakers of sacred church vestments. They assist the pastor and other clergy in performing the sacraments of the Holy Communion and Baptism.  The Stewardessess accompany clergy who administer Communion to the sick and shut in.

Christian Education

The Christian Education Ministry provides a variety of means to enhance and develop spiritual growth through sound and relevant teaching of the gospel that enhances spiritual growth and promotes true Christian discipleship.  Forums of education include weekly Bible Study, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Women's and Men's Bible Studies, and various specialized workshops, podcasts, retreats, and academic initiatives based on Christian values and principles.

Missions & Welfare

Through the committed and dedicated efforts of the Isadora Wilson Missionary Society and other faithful members and partners, the Commission on Missions and Welfare address the needs of our local, national, and international community to address food insecurity, homelessness, health disparities, and more.

Christian Social Action

The Commission on Christian Social Action stay abreast of social issues and provide critical updates to members and the community on topics at the local, state and national level.  This ministry provides needed information on resources, dates, and locations for voting, understanding how to connect with political representatives, as well as numerous ways to promote social justice and advocacy for marginalized groups.  This ministry focuses on direct action help to advance the mission of the AME Church.

Women's Ministry

The Women's Ministry provides forums, activities, and events that educate the church of the tremendous role that women have played historically and current day in building the Kingdom of God and being critical figures in building stronger and healthier families and communities.  The Women's Ministry is committed to promoting well-being and strong spiritual growth of all women and girls.

Christian Discipleship

This ministry promotes strong disciples within the church and seeks to educate the world on the gospel of Jesus Christ and promote fellowship among the Bethel community.

Health

Provide information on all aspects of improving physical and mental health, including resources for more details and assistance.

Men's Ministry - Brothers Building Brothers

The Men’s Ministry provides forums, activities, and events that promote spiritual growth of men and boys. The Men’s Ministry is an active participant of the Brothers Building Brother ecumenical men’s group.

Bethel Youth and Family Services (BYFS)

Bethel Youth and Family Services Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 to (1) promote and assist in the development of family life skills; (2) enhance, enrich, and promote development of youth; and (3) promote and provide job skills, employment, and economic and entrepreneurial development opportunities for socially and economically disadvantaged persons.

BYFS Foundation has provided academic scholarships to encourage students to pursue higher education, youth educational programs, poetry workshops and other community-focused programs to enhance the family life of residents in eastern Prince William County.

Voice of Tomorrow Literacy Project

Bethel is excited to announce several literacy and community outreach programs through the AMEC SED Thriving Church Initiative, a project funded by the Lily Endowment. This project has presented relevant podcasts, workshops, and community event is designed to provide creative resources and tools to enhance youth literacy and math comprehension and educate the community in addressing social issues in our society.

Kids Exceling in College (KXIC)

Through the Voice of Tomorrow Literacy Project, Bethel has proudly partnered with the Xcel Group to launch a series of academic enhancement and mentoring programs for children, grades 3-6. The program is free. See below for further information regarding enrollment and volunteering.
